Cheerleading information

 

1. Leagues Offered & Eligibility –          *Age group based on grade.

   1. Kindergarten

   2. First Grade

   3. Second Grade

   4. Third and Fourth Grade

   5. Fifth Grade

      1. Number of teams and team sizes dependent on sign up totals.

2. How much will it cost to register my child?

   1. $100 dollars, Online Registration via sportsengine.com

   2. Please select your players applicable size for bloomers when signing up as this will be used for orders.  Bows will also be provided.

   3. Late fee possible

   4. Season dates Mid November through Early Feb

      1. Fees subject to change

      2. Uniforms and Pom Poms must be returned.

3. When / where can I register?

   1. Registration link will be shared and register online October 1-October 31

4. What is included in the registration fee?

   1. Bloomers and Bow

   2. Maximum number of (1-2) practices per week and (6) regular season home games

5. When is the parent meeting?

   1. There will be no in person meeting, but communication will come from the commissioner and coaches.

6. How to be a coach?

   1. VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED!!! Potential coaches must be 18 years or older, fill out a coach’s application, and pass a criminal background screening. Approved coaches must attend a coaches meeting (may be virtual in person at assessment or before practices). Completion of paperwork does not guarantee a coaching position.

   2. There is a link via the website to volunteer.

   3. These hours do count towards UA volunteer hours.

7. When will I be contacted?

   1. Please allow volunteer coaches time to contact each team/participant before contacting our office.  All communications will be through sports engine app which your player will be added to for chats and updates.   Players should receive an email from UAA when teams have been set up to look in the app and also be notified by email through the sports engine app.  Please download this app as it will be the main form of contact.

8. How many practices will my child have per week?

   1. Teams will receive 1-2 practices per week (lasting approximately 1 hour). Once games begin practices may be shortened to one practice per week at the coach’s discretion or based on scheduling purposes.

9. When/where will games be played?

   1. Cheerleaders will cheer at home games during the season at one of the UA gyms.

10. Team Pictures

    1. Team and individual picture opportunities will be available. Days, times, and location will be announced once scheduled.

11. Inclement Weather

    1.  In the event of inclement weather, communication about practice or games will be shared via Sports Engine or email.  If schools are canceled, practices and games should also be canceled.

12. Parent and Player Code of Conduct

    1. This will need to be signed by players and parents to ensure code of conduct is followed for the season.
